The Resilience of Organizations for Transformative Smallholder Agriculture Project ROOTS is a collaborative investment between the Government of the Gambia, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the Smallholder farmers within the project intervention areas. Other project donors include Agence Francaise de Development, the Global Environment Facility and the Green Climate Fund. With funding of USD 80million, the 6-year project will be implemented through three components as indicated in the table below
The ROOTS project has established a dedicated Matching Grant (MG) window called the Public-Private Producer Partnership (4P) financing, aimed to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Farmer Organizations (FOs) engaged or interested in the Public Private Producer Partnership arrangements. This matching grant window aims to finance post-harvest and value-addition business plans proposed by eligible entities in the agriculture sector. The GCCI is the key implementing partner for the 4P matching grant.
